Price for meat is $4.00 per pound based on hog hanging weight. Typical half hog hanging weight will be 90-100 lbs, yielding 60-70 lbs of take home meat. We require a $150 deposit per half. Deposit is non-refundable.
2024 pork will go to the processor in December. Exact timing will be determined closer to the end of the year.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Price shown here is the DEPOSIT to reserve your half or whole hog. You will receive an invoice for the additional amount due based on the animal's hanging weight at butcher time.
A typical HALF HOG order will include:
12 - 16 pounds of ham cuts
6 - 8 pounds of bacon
14 - 16 pounds of loin cuts (chops or roasts)
6 - 10 pounds of shoulder cuts (steaks or roasts)
3-5 pounds of ground pork, sausage, or brats
Don’t like some of those cuts? Turn them into ground pork or sausage! You will be able to specify how your hog is cut, which portions are cured and smoked, and how large to cut the roasts, chops, and steaks.
You are responsible for submitting your butcher cutting instructions, paying processing costs (about $175 per half), and picking up the finished product from butcher.
Our pigs are born on pasture with no farrowing crates or any other restrictions on the moms. They are not weaned before 2 months of age (factory farms wean before 2 weeks) and spend their entire lives foraging on pasture. They spend their time grazing our pastures (yes, pigs love grass and plants), rooting for bugs and other underground treats, and basking in the sun. We do not dock their tails, file their teeth, or restrict their movement. Pastured pork is rich and nutrient dense like beef and is nothing like its factory farmed pale and dry grocery store counterpart.
